Shredded dreams

For most of us, shredded paper is garbage, but for Nathalie Boutté it’s the perfect medium for creating incredible art. She takes thousands of tiny strips of recycled paper (blank paper, tissue paper, pages from books, and tracing paper) and layers them like roofing shingles to construct incredible mosaics. Up close it may be difficult to distinguish her designs, but if you step back and blur your eyes, the exposed ends of the paper strips act like pixels, coming together to reveal stunning images of people, flowers, and even clothing. You can check out more of her impressive collages here.
